Beef Liver has long been used as a treat for dogs. WHY? The answer is simple really - most dogs love liver and it is so good for them! Liver is a good source of digestible protein and contains great levels of vitamin A so necessary for eye health, growth, immune function and cellular function. Liver is also an excellent source of Vitamin B, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, iron, copper, niacin, zinc and phosphorus.
BUT please remember to limit the amount of liver treats you give your dog on a daily basis - liver is a cleansing organ in the body and when eaten it has the same effect. Too much can give your dog a case of loose stools, even diarrhea in the extreme. Its just a case of small amounts are excellent but you can use too much of a good thing
